New Moon Trailer Leak Slams Bandslam?
Guess vampires are mortal, too.
The lure of a new New Moon trailer didn't hook much business for Vanessa Hudgens' Bandslam, which despite good reviews, debuted with just $2.3 million at the weekend box office, per estimates, and failed to finish in the Top 10. Or even the Top 12.
District 9, meanwhile, had a fantastic start, with the $30 million Peter Jackson-produced alien flick grossing $37 million, and handily topping the likes of G.I. Joe.
As for Bandslam, its bad weekend probably started on Thursday. When the New Moon trailer was leaked online.
It's believed the widespread leak cut into Bandslam ticket sales. Considerably. The promise of the trailer had been central to the Bandslam marketing campaign.
To Exhibitor Relations box-office analyst Jeff Bock, relying on trailers to help sell tickets is an increasingly dicey strategy.
"Whether or not you attach an exclusive trailer onto a film," Bock said in an email today, "it will be available online for download practically minutes after it debuts."
If not a day before it debuts.
More from the weekend that was:
• Not to rub it in, but Bandslam only made about a thousand bucks off each of its 2,121 screens. The guitar-hero documentary, It Might Get Loud, by comparison, made $14,440 off each of its seven screens.
• G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra picked up another $22.5 million, moved its domestic total to $98.8 million—and needed to make a mere $75 million more or so to match its reputed budget.
• For the record, G.I. Joe's No. 1 finish last weekend wasn't as big as originally estimated: The film ended up with $54.7 million, $1.5 million lighter than anticipated.
• On Friday night, The Time Traveler's Wife outgrossed G.I. Joe. Now, the Eric Bana-Rachel McAdams romantic drama is estimated to finish third for the weekend, behind District 9 and G.I. Joe, with $19.2 million.
• Julie & Julia fell from second to fourth, but held well, with $12.4 million. The $40 million movie has now hit $43.7 million domestically.
• Should Katherine Heigl be keeping score, The Ugly Truth ($4.5 million) has outlasted Judd Apatow's Funny People in the Top 10—four weekends and counting to two weekends and out. The $38 million Heigl comedy has outgrossed the $75 million Apatow comedy: $77.5 million to $47.9 million.
• The Jeremy Piven-Ed Helms comedy, The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, debuted in sixth, with a Fired Up-esque $5.4 million.
• In its 11th weekend, The Hangover lost 500 screens, and made more money than Bandslam: $2.1 million.
• Worldwide, the animated Ponyo is already a hit. Here, its $3.5 million debut was, theater for theater, less spirited when compared to director Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away.

what my feeling now?...Aaaa my samsung phoneeee
Aaaaaaaa memacam perasaan nie. Org sambung belajar happy tp aku x happy langsung. First day jer dah kate asrama siswi dah penuh ye laa dak2 diploma daftar awal dan terlebih, kitorg yg degree nie daftar lambat. In take tahun nie terlebih???..adoooiiiiii kalo dah terlebih nape masih terima lagi..Oooo KPTM tolong aa jgn pikir nak untung jer.. Asal ade duit terima jer..So kitorg nie terpaksa laaa ditempatkan yg agak jauh, kolej kat cheras asrama kitorg yg terlebih nie kat ampang, x ker jauh gak tu.kalo naik teksi tu ade laa sekepala dia kira rm3.50 aaa paling tinggi, kalo yg pandai tawar menawar tu dpt aa rm1 hoho utk sekepala jer tu. Kalo mane yg class sampai malam tu lg aa cekik darah org2 teksi nie mengaut keuntungan sorg lebih rm5. Ade yg sanggup balik jalan kaki, nak tau berapa lama jalan kaki?, 2 jam beb dah aa memalam pompuan lak tu..Ade bas disediakan tp waktu kol 4.30 dgn 5.30 utk balik nyer. Td citer yg class mlm nyer tp kalo class abis kol 12tgh hari x kan nak mencanguk kat kolej tu kan sampai petang tp mungkin sbb belom ade assignment lagi x tau aa kalo assignment dah start mesti kene wat research kan?, mesti aa kene stay kat library. So terpaksaa aa gak naik teksi buat masa sekarang..
Tp yg paling menyedihkan bile hp Samsung kesayangan ku ilangggggg…uwaaaaaaaaa….rumah kolej yg kitorg duduk tu x de kipas so memalam kitorg bukak aa tingkap ngan pintu bilik supaya x rasa panas..bngun2 jer pepagi tu tgk hp xde di sisi aaa satu bilik iza hp ilang…sedih nyerrr…mcm2 kenangan kat dlm hp tu yer aa gmbar2 kengkawan time keje ngan belajar dulu..ikut kan hati mmg terkilan tp nak wat cam ner dah jadi, kitorg lak berani bukak pintu balkoni tu tp sbb panas xde kipas kitorg ingat rumah kitorg yg tingkat 12 tu x kan ade org berani panjat nak masuk rmh kitorg tp sebalik nyer lak yg berlaku, ade jaga pon hampeh entah mamat mane di ambik jd jaga, polis tanye x reti ckp melayu paham2 jer laa kan jaga tu org ape… dah jadi mcm nie baru laa kolej nak pasang kipas emm kalo x jgn harap entah tahun depan baru nak pasang kipas dah aa bayar asrama mahal rm160 sebulan kipas pon xder mule dah aku nie nak memarah wah bukan senang tau iza nak marah hohoho. Tp satu jer nasib laa dia amik hp jer x ape2 kan kitorg sebab kitorg syak dia bawak pisau sbb key chin yg kat hp kitorg tu dia kerat pakai benda yg tajam. Kurang asam tol pencuri tu ade dia tinggal kan key chin jer. Lepas tu rokok bertaburan kat balkoni kitorg. Entah aa ramai yg cakap kitorg kene pukau sbb putung rokok bersepah kat balkoni rumah kitorg, org kata itu salah satu cara pukau dia akan tinggalkan bende..yer aa sepanjang duduk kat sini x pernah lena tido beb tetibe malam tu lena gile tidur..org masuk pon kitorg x sedar…Sekarang nie kalo nak kemana2 bawak yasin dgn amik wuduk takut kene pukau lagi x ke nyaye..
AAaaaa tetibe fobia nak sambung belajar kat KPTM nie tp disebabkan semangat nak belajar tu menyebabkan iza masih kekal kat sini walaupun dalam ketakutan..Lagi satu kat kaw rmh kitorg nie terlalu ramai org asing dr mexico, arab, indon, bangla, itali, thailand memacam aa lagi dah tu duduk campor laki pompuan, lg satu kitorg (eh kitorg ker ?eh bukan2 jiran2 yg ckp) yg rmh bwh kitorg tu rmh pelacur..adey..lepas tu ade lagi diorg cakap dulu tmpt tu org black money nyer tmpat & ade org ragut pakai pisau sume org asing punye keje adeyyy…Iza mmg x berani nak kuar gi memane kalo nak kuar pon reramai..Iza harap iza selamat aa sepanjang berada di sini..Tu baru jer masuk kolej dah memacam jd…iza nie dah aa mak ayah jauh kat mersing x mcm dak2 lain yg same mangsa kene curi hp tu, mak ayah diorg dekat jer..Kekadang tu sedih gak tgk mak bapak diorg care pasal diorg tp nak wat mcm ne kan. Mak ayah iza jauh xpe aa sampai bile nak bergantung pada mak ayah jerk kan kekadang kene aa berdikari sendiri sedih sendiri (alaa kalo sedih sendiri tu mmg rutin harian ku hoho..Ye aa nak kongsi ngan sape adik beradik sume dah ade keluarga sendiri). Thanks kengkawan pon byk bagi semangat dgn nasihat, kalo xde korg x tau aa msti dah down gile.
Lagi satu lecturer kitorg dok takut kan pulak course yg kitorg amik tu (computer science) susah..Siap dia pesan (If you have error or cannot debug your system don’t see me, See me if you have problem about design only but your system I cannot help because this is your system, not my system. And I hope this course is the right chooses from you and all of you must have minimum 5 books to reference. Remember you are the bachelor student for Coventry university) lebih kurang aa ayat dia macam tu. Gile bapak buku sume atas rm100 wey utk subject Advanced Programming jer tu utk sebuah buku, kalo 5 buku mau x rm1000 satu subject, buku kat library x banyak so nak x nak kene ade buku sendiri gak aaa kalo nak pass subject tu sbb sebelom nie (senior kitorg) paling byk satu kelas 5 org jer pass??, bukan takat terdiam jer iza tp jd patung utk beberape saat bile dgr lecturer tu ckp... Patut laa dak sem 1 cume 3 org jer utk course computer science kalo mcm iza nie lompat sem 3 terus sbb dah ade diploma , dlm 30 org gak laa, x banyak sgt berbanding ngan dak business yg beratus2 tu. Disebabkan kata2 lecturer tu ramai pulak yg nak tarik diri dr course computer science so tinggal berape kerat jer aa yg pilih computer science. Kitorg belajar pon fully speaking dan lecturer pon sepatah haram x ckp melayu.Iza sempoi jer aa speaking jer aa English gak wahhh walaupon broken tau nasib baik dak2 lain x gelak sekali tetapi selalunyer iza jawab BM jer, paham cakap diorg tp x confident nak jawab BI.Lagi satu baru tau ghupe nyer course yg iza amik nie Coventry University UK yg punye, laaa jawapannyer kene struggle gile2 laa nie, so x mustahil laa kalo sebelom2 nie ramai yg x pass harap iza boleh pass aminnn. Kitorg (dak computer science) cume tumpang jerk kat KPTM tu. Nasib baik laa belajar coding kalo iza x tukar course (yg asal nyer dpt International business tp sebab x yakin dgn bahasa inggeris yg power tu iza tukar computer science) mati den dok speaking yg agak broken tu. Buat masa nie tanye senior sume de repeat subject.Yer aa dah kate student Coventry university, Yuran pon satu sem hampir rm 11000.00 hoho nasib baik mara tukang bayar hehe tp kene bayar balik gak nnt ye laa iza nie mana laa mampu nak bayar sendiri…Tu aa iza nak sgt masuk KPTM hoohoo..Papepon syukur laa bukan semua org dpt peluang nie kan, iza bukan nyer laa pelajar yg pandai sgt yg menyebabkan layak belajar ditahap sekarang iza anggap ini sume rezeki tuhan yg nak bagi…So sekarang nie pepatah yg sesuai dgn iza adalah bersusah2 dahulu bersenang2 kemudian. So mulai sekarang kene laa rajin belajar dah x boleh enjoy2 macam dulu x pe dua tahun jer..
